Vincent van Gogh stayed in Auvers for seventy days. In that time he painted seventy pictures.
Some of these paintings are still in private hands.
All too often, unfortunately, they have been hidden away in a bank vault, unavailable for public viewing.
This was the case with the “Wheatfields” – unseen by the public for ninety-five years – which was put up for auction on 7 November 2007, but remained unsold.
So there is still a picture that could return to its home in Auvers. And there could be others…
A work by Vincent has a room of its own : Van Gogh's last room at the
Ravoux Inn. This is where it belongs. This is where it should be returned for the delight of the tens of thousands of pilgrims who, each year, visit Vincent's room to pay tribute to his talent.
We at
Institut Van Gogh have the room. Help us hang a picture by Vicent there and make
Van Gogh's Dream come true at long last !
